Vivere
Mare
Between olive trees, ancient dry-stone walls, small masserie, and the deep blue waters of the Adriatic Sea, Salento reveals itself as it is experienced away from large hotels and perfect postcard scenery.
Vivere Mare is a private day trip in an open 1968 Fiat Cinquecento Cabriolet — together with a private chauffeur and with plenty of time for the sea, small roads, and spontaneous impressions along the way.
The tour starts in Lecce and first leads to Castello di Acaya, a small fortified Renaissance village between Lecce and the coast.
From there, the route continues towards San Foca and then south along the Adriatic coastal road SP366. The drive passes small coves, pine forests, ancient stone walls, and typical masserie — the historic country estates of Salento.
As a destination, we suggest Baia dei Turchi.
There, guests can leave the car park and walk through a pine forest path of approximately 20 minutes to reach the sea. During the swimming break of around two hours, the driver waits nearby. Guests also receive a small picnic basket with simple Italian snacks such as frisa, taralli, water, and small drinks.
On the way back, there is an additional stop in a small inland village for a coffee or aperitivo — for example in Acquarica di Lecce or Cannole.
The tour can be adapted individually at any time, including different coves, beaches, or small villages along the coast.
The experience is not about following a fixed tourist schedule, but rather about enjoying a long summer day between the sea, country roads, and everyday Italian life: open windows, warm air, and the unique feeling of the classic Cinquecento.
